Creating Healthy Eating Habits with Miniware

I can’t believe Olivia is old enough to eat solid foods!  It has been so exciting watching her try new things and to create healthy eating habits.  She has the funniest facial expressions and reactions to foods.  But, man, meals are a mess!  Olivia is super independent and she insists on feeding herself which means food goes everywhere.  The bowls sometimes end up on the floor, too.  Who knew she has such a great throwing arm?

Healthy Eating Habits:

When Miniware reached out to try out their uber chic baby friendly dishes I immediately said yes.  For one reason– they stick to the table or highchair tray!  I love that Olivia can’t pick them up and throw them on the floor.  The dishes are also beautiful in design with soft muted colors of cream, pink, gray and blue.  I have the mini-hipster set!  Such a cute name.

We started using them right away.  I like to give Olivia different options of food so she is exposed early to texture, color, and flavors.  Just like her Daddy, she HATES for her foods to touch.  I use the Miniware plate insert to keep her foods from touching.  So far she will eat almost anything.  Olivia has so much fun with the spoon.  It is just soft enough that she doesn’t hurt herself when she bites it and the handle is easy for her to grab and hang onto.  The experience of watching her find foods she loves is so fun.

We do a lot of eggs, fruit, steamed vegetables and bread straight from our local bakery.  I even bought a fun chart of 100 foods before one to keep track of everything we have tried.  So far the only thing Olivia hates is peaches and turkey.   Her favorite foods are mango and breadsticks.

Two of my goals for 2019 are to be more eco-conscious and to create healthy eating habits.  I recycle but I also want to know where my footprint is in more aspects of my life.  When I learned Miniware was made from natural and non-toxic materials, 40% Bamboo fiber, 40% Starch, Emulsion and Silicone, I knew this was the baby dishes I wanted.  They also LAST from 4-months old until we are ready to move to grown-up dishes.  Just pop off the suction cups to make them “big kid” approved. 🤣

Checkout Miniware  and let me know your tips or ideas for new meals for Olivia.
