Family dinner was my favorite as a kid.  It was the one time a day we were all together.  I want to continue that tradition on with Olivia.  Who knew it was so hard!?  My husband is a total work-a-holic, I run two businesses and take care of Oliva with help from my Mother-in-law one day a week.  It is tough to cook family dinner let alone get things set up and grocery shopping is a CHORE with a baby.

I know we all know how much I LOVE meal delivery services; I have tried every brand on the market.  My original love started with PLATED way back in like 2011 or 2012 I don’t even remember now!  It really started my love for cooking. I was off at college and tired of walking a half a mile to get some crap fast food.  Plated popped up on Google or Facebook and I decided to try it.  I had no cooking experience, had never used my oven and didn’t even have a decent pot or frying pan.   I had to go out and buy pans and utensils! Fast forward several years and I am still one of their biggest fans.

Plated works so well for us by taking the stress out of meal planning, prep, and grocery shopping.  I love that the box has just about everything I need in it to make a great meal.  I sit down every Tuesday and plan out the next week’s meals.  Then I add in a few meals from Plated, count in a few leftover meals– we never eat all of it– and then place my order.  The ingredients are all pre-measured and the instructions are super easy to follow.

Last week we did a tamale pie with peanut butter oatmeal cookies.  The recipe was one of my favorites and the cornbread top was delicious!  We love these little moments together with just our small family.  For now, Olivia sits on our laps and we chat with her while we share a family dinner.  In a month or so she can sit on her own in a high chair and in just a few more months she can try solid food!   Crazy how fast she is growing up.
