Sephoria is one of my favorite beauty events of the year.
I went in 2018 and 2019 and absolutely loved it! The decor and experience were just incredible– like being inside a genies bottle or the tv. When Sephora announced a digital version I jumped at the chance to attend. The tickets were free but you could add on a VIP experience box. There were two different options– a beauty box or a skincare box. By the time I got in the skincare box was the only option left. Not that I was mad at that at all!
Sephoria 2021 finally arrived this Saturday. I was so excited. After arriving to work early, I logged in and started looking around. The even had 6 rooms and was set up similar to the actual Sephoria house in 2018. There was a living room where different influences spoke about their experiences in beauty and how beauty works in their culture. The theatre room had different masterclasses like Patrick Ta and Fenty and a showcase wall where you could get event-exclusive products or deals. The green room showcased different clean at Sephora brands. The loft had a virtual bra fitting. The backyard had a free month of workout class, a game, and a mocktails class with Youth To The People.
It was a good first try but comes nothing close to the real deal! I finished all the rooms in 15 minutes and the masterclass/recodings were so low res they were hard to watch. The deals didn’t really interest me either. Super weird because in 2019 I bought every exclusive because the hype at the event was that good! I was really bummed there weren’t more games or activities. I know shipping can be expensive but they could have done points or pickup in-store or something fun.
The Sephoria 2021 gift box though was awesome!
I covered it over on Instagram. The box was shipped like a house with a door nob that turned out to be this cute wristlet! For $40, it was a slam dunk.
