About the Author

After a full career in education and business, Mary shifted her focus to writing and creativity. In 2016, she published her first work of fiction, Fertile Soil: Stories of the California Dream. Her award-winning, historical fiction novel, In This Land of Plenty, a family saga based on California history, debuted in 2020. Felipe the Frog Learns to Swim is her first children's book and the first story in the bilingual Tropical Tales series. Claudia is a freelance illustrator with an extensive portfolio in all aspects of children's book publishing. She was born in Trento, Italy and has loved books since she was a child. She always wanted to be an artist. She has a degree in Fine Arts with a major in illustration from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. Claudia has also lived in London and now resides in Auckland, New Zealand with her husband and their two dogs.
